A Dream Wedding in Italy: Darya & Alexey’s 18th-Century Castle Celebration

When it comes to a dream wedding, Italy is always at the top of the wish list. It’s a country that feels like a celebration in itself. Whether you’ve been there, only seen it on screen, or discovered it through books, Italy holds a unique kind of magic. From the eternal history of Rome and the refined elegance of Lake Como to the warm, home-like charm of Tuscany or the fairytale atmosphere of a medieval castle — Italy offers an endless palette of possibilities for those seeking not just a celebration, but an experience created with soul and style.

A Love Story That Began in Moscow and Continued in Italy

Darya and Alexey met during their university years in Moscow. When Darya was given the opportunity to move abroad, her choice was obvious — Italy, the country she had long been deeply in love with and where she had always dreamed of living. Unwilling to be apart from the woman he loved, Alexey supported her decision and moved with her. Together, they navigated not only life in a new country but also the challenges brought on by the pandemic — experiences that only strengthened their bond.

The couple decided that while a wedding may happen once in a lifetime, three celebrations are even better. They officially tied the knot in Rome in April, sharing an intimate ceremony with their parents only. Later that summer, we organized an Orthodox wedding and a symbolic ceremony, inviting their closest family and friends to celebrate together.

A Wedding Weekend in a Castle: Tuscan Atmosphere Near Milan

Darya and Alexey envisioned more than just a celebration — they dreamed of a full wedding weekend immersed in romance and relaxation. The perfect choice was Mornico Castle, located just outside Milan, a venue that seamlessly combines convenience with authenticity.

This 18th-century castle has preserved the spirit of historic Italy, offering an atmosphere reminiscent of Tuscany despite its proximity to Milan. All guests were accommodated within the castle, creating a sense of privacy and an intimate, exclusive celebration. The presence of a private chapel allowed Darya and Alexey to fulfill another dream — an Orthodox wedding ceremony.

The Orthodox Ceremony and Pre-Wedding Dinner

The wedding weekend began on Friday with an intimate Orthodox ceremony held in the castle’s chapel. Following the spiritual celebration, guests were welcomed to an aperitivo featuring a unique experience — sabrage, the traditional opening of champagne with a blade — enthusiastically enjoyed by both the newlyweds and their guests. The evening continued with a relaxed dinner, a small dance party, and time to unwind before the main celebration.

The Wedding Ceremony and Sunset Dinner

Saturday morning began with a relaxed pool party — informal and carefree, complete with inflatable floats and pizza. It was the perfect way for guests to unwind, connect, and soak up the sun without any rush or pressure. After lunch, it was time to get ready. While the stylists worked their magic with Darya and her bridesmaids, the groom and his friends enjoyed their own “bachelor moment,” complete with a fun photoshoot.

The highlight of the day was the first look, which turned into a playful surprise. Darya decided to tease Alexey by sending a friend dressed in a wedding gown to meet him first. The unexpected moment broke the tension and filled the air with genuine laughter, setting the tone for Alexey’s emotional meeting with his real bride.

After an intimate couple’s photoshoot, accompanied by the sound of a violin and surrounded by fields reminiscent of Tuscan landscapes, the main ceremony took place. A champagne tower followed, along with a more traditional entertainment program, and then a wedding dinner and dancing that continued late into the night.

There are many beautiful countries in the world, but when it comes to a true dream wedding, Italy offers a depth, authenticity, and effortless style that is hard to find anywhere else. This is not just a “wedding abroad” — it is an investment in your most cherished memories, a fairytale that will stay with you for a lifetime.

If you are dreaming of a wedding in Italy but don’t know where to begin, or if you are choosing between different options, book a consultation with us. We will help you find the perfect location — whether a castle or a villa — to bring your dream to life.

From Austria to Italy: How Daria and Daniel Chose Rome for Their Wedding

Photography: Irina Morina
MUAH: Yana Ermakova
Event Planner: @wowitaly_events

We are used to believing that we control our own destiny, plotting routes on maps and in our phones. But love has its own navigation system. It finds us exactly when we are ready — and exactly where we are meant to be. We can make wishes while watching shooting stars or plan years ahead, yet true happiness often waits just around the most unexpected corner — perhaps on the next street, or perhaps on the other side of the world.

From Novosibirsk to the Capital of Classical Music to Meet Love

Daria was born in snow-covered Novosibirsk. Thousands of kilometers away, in Germany, Daniel was growing up. At first glance, what chances could a girl from a distant Siberian city and a young man from Germany have to ever meet and create their own universe? Yet a few years ago, Daria moved to Austria to study at a university in Vienna. It was there that fate brought our newlyweds together.

For more than two years, Daria had been following our wedding Instagram account. She watched our couples and quietly dreamed of her own Italian fairytale. When Daniel proposed, the question of the wedding location was already decided — it had to be Italy. At first, they dreamed of sharing the day with their loved ones, but logistics had other plans: bringing together family from Siberia and Germany in one place at the same time proved almost impossible. That was when Daria and Daniel made the most meaningful decision — not to give up on their dream, but to make the day deeply personal. A wedding for two: their rhythm, their vows, and their Italy.

The Town of Tivoli — a Timeless Gem

The beginning of their family story unfolded in Tivoli — a town just 30 minutes from Rome, rightfully considered a gem of the Lazio region. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Tivoli feels like a living setting from a historical novel. The town is famous for its cascading waterfalls and magnificent villas once favored by Roman emperors and cardinals. Here, time seems to slow down, and in its narrow streets you can still sense the breath of authentic, non-touristic Italy. This atmosphere of noble antiquity and seclusion became the perfect backdrop for their intimate celebration.

The wedding day began in silence. We carefully designed the timeline so that the morning would be filled with calm and relaxation. While Daria was in the caring hands of her stylist, Daniel had time to enjoy an Italian coffee and quietly reflect on the words of his wedding vows.

Vows Beneath Ancient Frescoes and the Magic of Rome

The official ceremony took place at the Tivoli town hall, in an 18th-century hall whose walls are adorned with authentic ancient frescoes. The registrar’s words were spoken in melodic Italian, with simultaneous translation into German, creating a beautiful symphony of languages. Despite the absence of guests, Daria wished to preserve meaningful traditions: there was a wedding dance and the cutting of a white cake — their first shared dessert as husband and wife.

After the official ceremony, we headed to Rome. The Eternal City welcomed us with soft evening light. A photoshoot at Rome’s panoramic viewpoints is always pure magic, but that day had something even more special in store. Daria had a dream — to toss her bridal bouquet, passing on the symbol of happiness. We planned to gather a few random tourists on one of the squares, but the Eternal City had a surprise of its own.

At the very moment Daria was ready to throw the bouquet, an incredible scene unfolded right beside us: a young man dropped to one knee and proposed to his beloved. The symbolism was so powerful that Daria, without hesitation, approached and handed her bouquet to the bride-to-be — a gesture from someone who had become a wife just an hour earlier, someone who had only moments before said her own heartfelt “Yes.”

May your dream of a heartfelt wedding in Italy come true as well. And we will be there to help turn it into reality.

How a Dream of an Italian Wedding Became Reality: Why Eliza and Ilnaz Chose Lake Como Over Their Hometown of Kazan

Photography: Ksenia Palchuk
MUAH: Alina Agafon
Flowers & Decor: Evgeniya Kasyanenko
Event Planner: @wowitaly_events

Italy is not just a point on the map — it is a state of mind. It stirs the imagination long before you ever set foot on its land. We fall in love with this country through scenes from Fellini’s films, through the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, through the poetry of great minds like Dante and Shakespeare. For many, Italy becomes the ultimate dream, a timeless symbol of beauty and romance. That is why an “Italian-style wedding” remains one of the most popular requests worldwide. We try to recreate this atmosphere through décor and cuisine.

But what if, instead of imitating the dream, you could actually live it?

When the dream is closer and more real than we think

Eliza and Ilnaz began planning their wedding in their hometown of Kazan. At first, the idea was to host an “Italian-style” celebration at home. But as the preparations went on, they realized something was missing. That was when Eliza started to explore another possibility: what if they did it for real?

After discovering our website, the couple understood that their dream of an authentic Italian wedding was absolutely achievable. They chose an official marriage registration so that an Italian town would forever be written into the story of their family. Lake Como, once just an image saved for inspiration, became the place where their celebration unfolded. Remarkably, it was the first trip to Italy for both of them. They were traveling to a country they knew only through books and films, entrusting it with one of the most important days of their lives.

For Eliza and Ilnaz, the wedding became more than a ceremony — it marked the beginning of a grand adventure: a honeymoon that led them through Venice and the Alps. They dreamed not just of a celebration, but of complete immersion — tasting that authentic lasagna and sipping their very first “proper” Aperol Spritz under the warm Italian sun.

A Wedding Day with a View of Lake Como

Their morning began at a hotel perched above the lake, near its true jewel — the town of Bellagio. From the balcony, an impossible-to-measure view unfolded: the deep blue of Lake Como and misty mountains in the distance. It was a morning of complete calm and relaxation. Before slipping into her wedding dress, Eliza chose a look for her morning photoshoot inspired by Monica Bellucci — a little black dress that подчеркed the elegance and cinematic mood of the moment.

Ilnaz did not see the wedding dress until their first meeting, which took place right there, in the hotel garden. After that, the couple headed to the Bellagio town hall, where the ceremonial words were spoken and, by Italian law, they officially became husband and wife.

For their photoshoot and the most intimate moment of the day, Eliza and Ilnaz chose Villa Monastero — one of the most beautiful villas on the lake. It was here, on a small balcony with a breathtaking view, that they decided to exchange their wedding vows. This was not part of the official town hall ceremony — it was a moment just for them. No guests, only the two of them and the lake, quietly witnessing their love. In those words, spoken at the very heart of their dream, lay the true essence of their Italian wedding.

Dreaming of Italy and trying to recreate the Italian style is wonderful. But remember: Italy is much closer and more accessible than it may seem. There is no need to build elaborate sets when you can travel to a place where nature itself becomes the décor. Eliza and Ilnaz’s wedding proved that a first trip to Italy can also be the most meaningful one — and that dreams of “that very style” are truly worth living out in real life.

Your story can begin here too. Because if you dream of Italy, it means your heart already speaks a little Italian.

The Road to a Dream Eight Years in the Making: Valeria and Alexey’s Wedding on Lake Como

Photography: Viktoria Vasilenko
MUAH: Lidiya Malinovskaya
Flowers & Decor: Evgeniya Kasyanenko
Event Planner: @wowitaly_events

Sometimes the line between fiction and reality is erased by a single, accidental frame. Many years ago, Valeria watched Star Wars. The iconic kiss of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé on a balcony, the endless expanse of water, and an atmosphere too perfect to exist beyond a Hollywood set. At the time, Valeria was certain it was masterfully created CGI.

Only later did she discover the truth: that balcony was not imagined. It was real, tangible, and located on one of the most beautiful villas on Lake Como — Villa del Balbianello. What began as a cinematic moment slowly transformed into a personal dream, patiently waiting its time for eight long years.

To Change Everything for a Dream

For eight years, Valeria carried the image of Lake Como in her heart. During that time, she and Alexey met, fell in love, and began building their life together. Their original wedding plan was familiar and traditional: a civil ceremony, guests, and a banquet. Everything was nearly decided—until chance intervened once again.

Valeria discovered our website and learned that Lake Como was not only a place for romantic прогулки, but also a destination for an official wedding ceremony. A dream that had once seemed “just a dream” suddenly became real—and even more desirable. Alexey fully supported his beloved, and the couple made a bold decision: to cancel all their arrangements in Russia in favor of an intimate, truly personal wedding day in Italy.

A Sweet October on Lake Como

They chose a hotel right on the waterfront, where wedding preparations felt less like stress and rush, and more like an extension of their holiday. They now had their own little balcony for kisses overlooking Lake Como, and the perfect atmosphere for their first photographs.

October on Lake Como decided to play along. Instead of crisp autumn chill, the couple was greeted by gentle sunshine and pleasant +20°C. Valeria and Alexey walked to the ceremony location—a cozy park right by the water. Their entire “wedding procession” consisted of just two of their closest people: Valeria’s sister and her husband, who became the only witnesses to this intimate moment. For family and friends who remained in Russia, we arranged a live video stream of the ceremony.

The ceremony itself took place on an open balcony, seemingly suspended over the lake. At that moment, reality completely aligned with the cinematic scene that once inspired Valeria: official vows, signatures, and the exchange of rings accompanied by the soft sound of water below. Then came a boat ride, an aperitif, and a course set toward the iconic Villa del Balbianello.

Sailing past views once seen only on screen, Valeria and Alexey were now creating their own story—no longer spectators, but the main characters. The wedding day gently flowed into a stroll through the park and ended with a cozy dinner. In every moment of that day, Valeria felt that her dream had truly become reality.

Looking at Valeria and Alexey’s journey, one thing becomes clear: you should never settle for a “just good” option if your heart longs for something extraordinary. Don’t be afraid to reshape plans and let go of templates. Dreaming small is easy, but only bold, seemingly “impossible” dreams have the power to change your life. Dream big—and we’ll help turn those dreams into real memories.

The couple’s words after the wedding are the best proof of that:

Anton and Ksenia: Wedding at Lake Como. Fulfilling the Italian Dream – Why Not?

Ksenia and Anton share their story of fulfilling their Italian dream for the portal weddywood.ru.

Initially, we didn’t want a grand celebration. The idea of getting married in Italy came suddenly when we found out there were no available dates in the registry office in Moscow that we liked. We thought for a while and decided to run away from everyone and have a beautiful ceremony just for two in one of the most beautiful and romantic places – Lake Como…

We found an organizer online, who helped us quickly prepare all the necessary documents remotely. All that was left was to come to Italy and enjoy the event. The day started with getting ready in a beautiful hotel, then we took a boat to the registry office for the ceremony.

We couldn’t shake the feeling that we were in some kind of movie or fairytale, everything was so beautiful! Along the way, local people came up to us, congratulated us, and took pictures with us. The photographer, videographers, and stylist accompanied us everywhere and made our day incredibly full of emotions.

Official Wedding in Italy

Alina and Petr: Escape from Everyone and Marry at Como

When we met Petr and Alina, we had no idea that our groom was a famous blogger with over a million followers! “We’re in for a wedding photoshoot!” – we thought, and started preparing. But it turned out to be nothing like that.

The couple faced a difficult choice – to organize a traditional wedding with many guests, to meet the expectations of relatives, or… to board a plane and head to one of those beautiful and romantic places on Earth, where they could celebrate this day just the two of them. In the end, the desire for a wedding for two prevailed, and they decided to escape to where many couples dream of going – Lake Como. It was a true escape! None of their loved ones knew until the very last moment!

Como

The couple had already been here a year ago. They came here and accidentally ended up in the most non-touristy area, where there were no taxis, nowhere to go, and they had to walk along the road with two large suitcases. But this didn’t scare them, rather the opposite!

Just by looking at Alina, it became clear: the standard lazy bride morning in pajamas was not for her! She was much more suited for the look of an Italian lady, the sultry beauty in the style of Monica Bellucci. The result of this transformation was simply stunning! Alina picked out an amazing outfit, like an Italian diva, and our stylist completed the look.

Petr left earlier to prepare for the ceremony, and we slowly left the apartment and went to take photos in the picturesque streets of Tremezzo. Suddenly, an elderly Italian lady came out onto the balcony of one of the houses and couldn’t hold back her emotions when she saw our beautiful bride! “Anna!” – she loudly called to her neighbor from across the street, “Come here! Look at this beauty!” It was as if we were on the set of a film by one of the great Italian directors of the past century! The Italian neighbors, not at all shy, kindly discussed us, wished us good luck, and blessed us, after which we headed to the ceremony venue.

The weather the day before was terrible! And on the wedding day, it rained lightly in the morning, and it was very cold, even though it was only October 4th. But Petr couldn’t accept that their wedding day would be gray and rainy, so he went to the church to ask the Almighty for good weather. And his prayers were answered! By lunchtime, the weather cleared up, the sun came out, and it became very warm. But the most important thing was the light! Soft, warm, flowing – the perfect light for the photographs of The Main Day.

The ceremony was held at an open venue in Tremezzo Park, right by the shores of Lake Como. Here, we had new extras and new sets for our film! First of all, of course, the official from the town hall, with a ribbon in the colors of the Italian flag across his shoulder. Behind him was an incredible view of the lake. Como is beautiful at any time of year, but it is only in sunny weather that all its beauty is fully revealed.

Alina walked down the alley by the lake to her beloved, accompanied by the enchanting sounds of the violin. And from the park bench, the Italian grandmothers watched the ceremony closely! During the ceremony, Petr couldn’t withstand such a concentration of beauty around him and became emotional.

We suggested that the newlywedscontinue the photoshoot, but they declined! In the evening, they had a reservation at a restaurant, but they canceled it and stayed in their beautiful apartment with a view of the lake. Because restaurants and photoshoots will still come into their lives, but this day on Como, this sunset, this atmosphere – they would never repeat again. They chose to live and feel this day until the very last minute. After all, memories are more valuable than any, even the most beautiful pictures.

And what will you choose: to gather distant relatives at one table and hear the shouts of “Bitter!” or arrange an unforgettable journey and dream wedding in Italy?

In my opinion, the answer is obvious.

Wedding for Two at Como

“The organizers were incredibly helpful on our wedding day, even finding us non-alcoholic sparkling wine (which is shocking for Italy). In general, everything was thought out to the smallest detail, for which I am very grateful 🫶

By the way! Our wedding was for two. I always knew I wouldn’t have that cheesy wedding with a host, alcohol, a bunch of distant relatives, fights, etc. And it was the best decision because the wedding was perfect! Honestly, I didn’t even think it would be like this!”

Olesya and Artem: a wedding in Rome is a dream that came true

Olesya and Artem: Wedding in Rome – a Dream Come True

First row, second desk, class 1 “A”. Meet Olesya, a girl with a big white bow on her head, and Artem, a boy with mischievous gray-blue eyes. This is not a typical school love story – all the years spent in the same class, the kids only communicated as friends, nothing more. At the graduation, when parting with school and classmates, Olesya and Artem realized that they didn’t want to part. A romantic spark ignited between them, which eventually grew into a flame of true love.

Olesya and Artem official wedding in Rome

Olesya and Artem official wedding in Rome

Olesya and Artem, as a couple, were united by common interests in music and cinema, a passion for travel, and a love for animals. More globally, their views on family, goals, and future plans were also aligned. The girl received a proposal of marriage while literally on cloud nine with happiness. Artem arranged an incredibly romantic surprise date on a hot air balloon, and of course, Olesya said “Yes!” to the cherished question!

Even before the proposal, in 2019, the couple visited the Eternal City, which captivated both of them with its atmosphere, architecture, friendliness, and the energy of its people. Artem, knowing that Olesya dreamed of marrying in Rome, decided – his beloved deserves to have her dream come true! He carefully approached the issue and, for a whole year, contacted WoW Italy to thoughtfully plan every detail of the most important day for them both.

Despite the thorough preparation, the summer of 2023 wasn’t without its anxieties. The couple flew to Rome a day before the wedding. They had a connecting flight with a layover in Istanbul, and if there had been a delay, they would have had to postpone everything. But everything went smoothly – the Eternal City was waiting for their return, because those who throw coins into the Trevi Fountain are sure to return!

Olesya and Artem official wedding in Rome

On the appointed day, preparations for the bride began at the hotel room, between the Vatican and the Castle of Saint Angelo. Stylist Irina Kostenko skillfully emphasized the bride’s naturally bright appearance. Olesya, with her elegant figure and stature, looked like a true Roman aristocrat. When Artem saw his bride, he could not take his eyes off her, full of admiration and love!

The couple traveled in a comfortable car to the outskirts of Rome – Tivoli. The July heat in this ancient hilltop town, where Roman nobility loved to rest, felt much less intense. It was here, in a hall with 18th-century frescoes, that Olesya and Artem were to officially become husband and wife.

A representative from the city hall gave a solemn and touching speech, and the WoW Italy team helped with the translation (which is required by Italian law for all foreigners wishing to marry in Italy). We organized a live stream of the ceremony for the couple’s parents and close ones, who celebrated and rejoiced with them from thousands of kilometers away. Olesya and Artem exchanged vows – touching confessions of love and promises to support each other in joy and sorrow.

After the official ceremony and photoshoot in Tivoli, the couple returned to Rome to take photos in the best light – at sunset. Our team knows the secret spots for photos in Rome, where tourists typically don’t venture. This means fewer people and no hands or legs in the background of the pictures.

The symbol of Rome, its very essence and history, is undoubtedly the Colosseum. It attracts crowds of tourists, but in our secret spot, Olesya and Artem enjoyed their love and their new status as husband and wife without any prying eyes. They strolled through the Roman streets, admiring the churches and rooftops of Rome in the soft rays of the setting sun. The evening ended at the restaurant of the famous Hassler Hotel, with a stunning panoramic view of the Eternal City.

The wedding day went by smoothly, joyfully, and effortlessly – just as Olesya and Artem had hoped. Their wedding journey through southern Italy, to breathtaking places like Pompeii and Positano, began in Rome. And so did their journey as husband and wife.

Later, years from now, they will show their children their passports with the marriage stamp, which will say “Rome,” and tell them about the old superstition. And their children will return to Rome to throw their coins into the Trevi Fountain. Because this is the Eternal City, where there are eternal things that never change. And love is the most important and precious of them all.

Anastasia and Nikita: Elegance and Modern Classicism on Lake Como

The number 777 is often associated with luck, spirituality, and higher powers. In numerology, this number is considered very favorable, symbolizing intuition and inner growth.

For Anastasia and Nikita, the number seven also gained special meaning. Their meeting happened on an autumn evening in Latvia 7 years ago – with a random swipe on Tinder (yes, meeting your soulmate on the internet is absolutely possible!). They liked each other, and their story as a couple began, full of love, fun, and shared discoveries.

On February 7, 2023, another event took place that was not planned specifically for that day. In the evening, Anastasia and Nikita were talking about various topics, and the conversation turned to unexpected and unplanned events in their lives. Nikita left the room and soon returned… with a ring, saying that such an event had never happened to him before, but he would like his first story to be just like this. Of course, Anastasia said “YES!” to the proposal.

The couple began preparing for the wedding 5 months in advance, reaching out to the team at WowItaly for help with the organization. The ceremony date of September 7, 2023, was chosen not by accident – this number became personal and unique for Anastasia and Nikita, bringing luck based on their own experience of love and relationships.

The morning of their wedding day, Anastasia and Nikita found themselves in one of the most wonderful places on Earth – on Lake Como. The villa chosen by the couple, Villa Mojana, is located in the southeastern part of the lake, near Bellagio, a haven for romantics immortalized by Byron and Liszt. The elegant villa from the beginning of the century combines classical Italian architecture with modern interior design using natural materials. The venue was perfect for the overall wedding style – minimalism, elegance, and modern classicism.

The wedding style of Anastasia and Nikita was inspired by the refined atmosphere of Lake Como, with its timeless nature and architecture that remain immune to fleeting trends.

The purity of lines and muted palette, minimalism, and elegance were maintained in every detail – from the wedding outfits to the flower composition of the bride’s bouquet. The incredible beauty of Lake Como became the backdrop where the diamonds of two hearts shone.

Photographer Kseniya Palchik managed to capture the atmosphere and highlight the minimalist and at the same time sophisticated style. Her photo series from the wedding of Anastasia and Nikita was selected by the editorial team of the MyWed wedding photographer community and was featured in the Best of the Week section. The international wedding portal Wed Vibe Media chose the story of Anastasia and Nikita’s meeting and wedding for publication in Real Weddings.

The official wedding ceremony, according to the laws of the Republic of Italy, took place for Anastasia and Nikita in Bellagio, located near Villa Mojana. The newlyweds then went for a boat ride on Lake Como, and the wedding dinner was held at the Michelin-starred Mistral restaurant.

Anastasia and Nikita wanted to spend this day alone, enjoying the enchanting atmosphere of Como and sharing these unique moments of happiness with each other. The morning at the villa, the incredibly emotional and touching ceremony at the Bellagio town hall, the boat ride gliding over the turquoise waters of Como, the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding landscape with majestic mountains and charming villages on the shore… And together – amazing memories and emotions that will forever stay with Anastasia and Nikita. Just like the date of September 7 (may the lucky sevens continue to bring good fortune!), which will always be part of their love story.

Oh, how I want to go back to this day, it all passed by like a dream. We had such a great team, Ksyusha and Volodya worked so harmoniously, and it felt like they were our guests. We even miss them a bit 😂 Marina, thank you once again for the organization and for all your advice and help 🙏🏻 I’m thankful that I stumbled upon your profile on Instagram. Working with you was the second best decision of my life, after deciding to marry Nikita, of course 😁 It was something on a cosmic emotional level ❤️❤️❤️

Official Wedding in Italy

Victoria and Benjamin: The Charm of Youth on Lake Como

Victoria and Benjamin have been together for 7 years, but, as often happens in strong unions, they didn’t immediately “see” each other. Benjamin transferred to Victoria’s school in 11th grade, where they met, but after graduation, their paths diverged. One day, when Victoria was already in her second year at university, Benjamin invited her on a date, which, 7 years later, led them to Lake Como.

Initially, Victoria and Benjamin planned to register their marriage at home and have a beautiful symbolic ceremony in Italy. But when they learned that we would take care of all the paperwork, they decided to marry officially in Como.

The Bride and Groom’s Morning

The couple spent the morning with their loved ones, enjoying the view of the lake from the large balcony and sipping exquisite Italian prosecco.

The weather forecast wasn’t promising, predicting +14 and rain on the wedding day. But fortunately, Italian meteorologists were wrong! May 13th had very comfortable weather for a wedding: not too cold, not too hot, pleasant cloudiness with glimpses of sunshine and no rain.

Official Ceremony

The marriage registration traditionally took place at the town hall of Bellagio. Official wedding ceremonies in Italy are held only in Italian, which is rightfully considered the language of love!

Immediately after the official part, the newlyweds danced right in the courtyard of the town hall to Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran, performed by a violinist. It was magical!

Then came the gift exchange! The couple presented the mayor of Bellagio with a Russian matryoshka doll and chocolates, and in return, they received handmade souvenirs with their initials.

After the marriage registration in Italy, it is recognized as legal in 10 EU countries, and the couple notified Russia on June 13th, exactly one month after their Italian wedding, and they already received their Russian marriage certificate.

Photo Session

Weddings on Lake Como are not rare. Italians themselves often choose this picturesque place for their wedding celebrations. In Italy, where couples do not rush to marry and prefer to simply live together, a wedding is a special celebration because it emphasizes the seriousness of the couple’s feelings and intentions. Therefore, the newlyweds inevitably attract the attention of everyone around. After the registration, when Victoria and Benjamin went for a photo walk around Bellagio, all passersby congratulated the couple, took photos of them with their mobile phones, and asked for photos together, which deeply moved them.

Boat Ride on the Lake

Lake Como must be seen from the water! Therefore, after the photo session at Villa Monastero, our newlyweds, together with their friends, embarked on a boat ride to enjoy the incredibly beautiful water color, the magnificent villas around, and the relaxed Italian atmosphere.

Wedding Dinner at the Villa

At the end of the day, the couple and their loved ones enjoyed an exquisite candlelit dinner at Villa Giulia.

The highlight of the evening was the cake – the famous Italian dessert tiramisu in a large size, decorated with a heart and the newlyweds’ initials.

Honeymoon

After the wedding, our heroes went to explore Italy in a rented car, and later flew to Paris, as their love for travel, good food, and wine is just a small part of what connects them.

Victoria’s Review:

“I look at these photos and still can’t comprehend the magic that was happening with us!”

Ekaterina and Maxim: A Wedding with a View of Lake Como

In an era when everyone meets online, it is rare to find couples who have been together since school. For us, a pleasant exception was Ekaterina and Maxim – a couple from St. Petersburg who have been together for 11 years!

Initially, Italy was not part of their plans, they planned to get married in Montenegro, celebrating with a large circle of friends. But fate intervened – ticket prices were sky-high, and many invited guests had to decline. Almost all flights to Montenegro had a stopover in Italy, and that’s when the couple realized it was destiny! And they decided to have a wedding for two in one of the most beautiful places – Lake Como.

Official Wedding Ceremony on Como takes place in the municipality of the picturesque town of Bellagio on the shore. But it doesn’t offer a direct view of the lake, and our couple wanted a wedding with the sound of the waves, with a picturesque view of Como right by its shore! So we organized an outdoor ceremony for them at Teresio Olivelli Park in Tremezzo. But, let’s go in order!

For their celebration, Katya and Maxim chose one of the longest (and hottest!) days of the year – June 22! The wedding day began with breakfast and… a glass of prosecco on the balcony with a beautiful view. The couple spent this morning together, discarding any superstitions. However, Maxim didn’t tempt fate too much and left, letting the stylist work her magic on Katya’s look.

The Bride’s Look

Getting ready for the wedding is always a very emotional time! Even if the hairstyle and makeup are rehearsed, and the dress is perfectly fitted, every bride still wonders: “Will I see what I expect in the mirror? Will everything be as I imagined?” But with our magical stylists, such worries are unnecessary! Katya’s look was soft and sensual. She chose an elegant dress with a flowing skirt, a classic long veil, and high-heeled sandals. Maxim added a twist to his classic formal look – an elegant black suit and white shirt – with playful white sneakers.

Marriage Ceremony

The ceremony took place at Teresio Olivelli Park in Tremezzo. It’s a public park, but it’s never crowded, so we weren’t afraid of any interruptions. From this small platform, there’s an unmatched view of Lake Como, the mountains, and the Melzi Villa across the lake. Would you want to say “Yes!” with such a view, just like Ekaterina and Maxim did?

The couple chose original wedding rings with different designs for him and for her. Watching them, it was hard to believe that they’ve been together for 11 years. There was so much passion and tenderness in their gazes and touches! The ceremony was very emotional, and at the end of it, neither of them could hold back their tears.

The town of Tremezzo is on the list of I Borghi piu belli d’Italia (The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy). One of the main attractions of this lovely “borgo” is the famous Villa Carlotta. Many picturesque towns are scattered around Lake Como, but Tremezzo is one of the most beautiful. So, we chose it for the wedding photoshoot. Afterward, Katya and Maxim enjoyed prosecco in beautiful glasses, posed for the photographer again, and had fun.

Boat Ride

The next item on the wedding program was a boat ride on Lake Como. This was the perfect moment to relax, enjoy each other’s company, and the beauty of the surrounding landscapes. And, of course, to give the photographer the chance to capture the happy moments of this day! The newlyweds took off their shoes and snapped a few playful shots against the magnificent backdrop.

The final destination was the famous Villa Monastero – another historic villa with a park right on the shore, where Katya and Maxim, escaping the heat, strolled under the shade of trees, laughed, and happily posed for the photographer.

A few more photos at the Varenna harbor, and the newlyweds were ready to head to the restaurant.

At 6 p.m., Katya and Maxim took the water tram to Bellagio. There, their wedding day ended with a festive dinner on a terrace overlooking Lake Como. They awaited the late sunset of this long and eventful day, which became a new starting point in their relationship.
