The charming Villa Erba, located on the western shore of Lake Como!<\/p>\n

This is where the deeply lyrical music video Cool<\/em> was filmed, as well as the iconic scenes featuring Danny Ocean (the incomparable George Clooney) and \u201cThe Night Fox,\u201d the French baron and master thief played by Vincent Cassel. The villa was also a beloved retreat of film director Luchino Visconti, founder of Italian neorealism and creator of cinematic classics such as Rocco and His Brothers<\/em>, Ossessione<\/em>, and Death in Venice<\/em>.<\/p>\n

It is believed that the monastery gave its name to the nearby town of Cernobbio \u2014 from the word cenobio<\/em>, meaning \u201cmonastery.\u201d The monastery building was later transformed and expanded with a tower offering a picturesque panorama of the surrounding landscapes.<\/p>\n

In the late 19th century, ownership passed to Luigi Erba, brother and heir of Carlo Erba, one of the most prominent pharmaceutical manufacturers of his time. Significant funds were invested in reshaping the villa, which was intended to reflect the status and prestige of the Erba family. The estate was later inherited by Carla Erba, wife of Duke Giuseppe Visconti di Modrone. Their son, Luchino Visconti \u2014 who would go on to become a legendary film director \u2014 spent time here, and one of the villa\u2019s rooms is now named in his honor, preserving memorabilia connected to him.<\/p>\n

Today, Villa Erba includes an elegant historic residence with breathtaking interiors, a magnificent park and botanical garden featuring plants from around the world, as well as a congress center that hosts art and film festivals, concerts, and even the Italian Comic Con. The villa is also a sought-after venue for private events, fashion shows, and advertising campaigns \u2014 with brands such as Bulgari and Guess among those who have chosen it.<\/p>\n

Villa Erba is available for weddings from April to November.
The rental fee from 17:00 to 01:00 ranges from \u20ac24,400 to \u20ac29,300, depending on the guest count. Music and dancing are permitted until 4 a.m. (subject to venue approval and an additional fee).<\/p>\n
