Wedding Ceremony at Villa Carlotta (Lake Como) from €8900

Lake Como has been a favorite vacation spot for aristocrats and the wealthy since Roman times, who built villas and palaces along its picturesque shores. One of the most exquisite is Villa Carlotta in the town of Tremezzo, built in 1690 for a Milanese banker. It is here, among art masterpieces, unique nature, and luxurious panoramic views, that your wedding celebration will take place.

You and your guests will enjoy a park and botanical garden spanning over 100,000 square meters, one of the best museums in Lombardy, and stunning collections of camellias, azaleas, bamboo, citrus trees, maples, plane trees, and other rare specimens. The wedding ceremony will take place on the Camellia Terrace, unique for its panoramic view of Bellagio and romantic atmosphere.

Villa Carlotta was built in 1690 for Giorgio Clerici, a banker from Milan.

In 1801, it was acquired by politician, entrepreneur, and close friend of Napoleon, Marquis Jean-Baptiste Sommariva. His immense wealth, accumulated during his brilliant political career, allowed Jean-Baptiste to live a luxurious life. He collected an impressive art collection. Especially valuable at Villa Carlotta are the works of Antonio Canova and Bertel Thorvaldsen. Later, the villa was purchased by Princess Marianne of Nassau as a gift for her daughter Carlotta.

The villa is adorned with works of art – sculptures by Antonio Canova and his school, as well as Thorvaldsen, including “Palamedes,” “Cupid and Psyche,” the monumental frieze with “The Triumph of Alexander the Great”,” and also a work by Hayes: “The Last Kiss of Romeo and Juliet” (Italian: l’ultimo bacio di Romeo e Giulietta).
