A symbolic wedding does not limit your choice of venue or ceremony format – it can be conducted exactly as you wish, without a “stamp in your passport” and without being tied to documents. Couples often choose a symbolic wedding if they want to renew their vows or do not see the point in formalities, while still desiring a memorable celebration in a beautiful, atmospheric setting.

For official marriage registration in Italy, a specific set of documents must be prepared. After the ceremony, you will be officially married and recognized by law as husband and wife, receiving a certificate that must then be presented at the local registry office.

• The original Nulla Osta (Nulla Osta al matrimonio) – a certificate confirming that there are no impediments to marriage, issued by the consulate of your country
• Passports
• Passports or ID cards of the country of citizenship of the bride and groom
• Birth certificates

If applicable, you must additionally provide scanned copies of:

• Divorce certificates (according to Italian law, a woman may remarry only 300 days after her divorce is finalized)
• Certificates of previous marriage
• Death certificates of a previous spouse (or spouses)
• Documents regarding a change of surname

• The ceremony is conducted in Italian; therefore, an interpreter is mandatory if the bride and groom do not speak Italian (this service is included in our packages)
• Two witnesses over 18 years old (they can be your parents or friends, or we can provide them upon request)

• Birth certificates
• Baptismal certificates (mandatory) / Certificato di battesimo
• For Catholics — additionally, a certificate of First Communion (Certificato di cresima)
• If one of the couple belongs to another Christian denomination (Orthodox or Protestant), a written consent for raising future children in the Catholic faith is required
• A certificate of participation in premarital courses / Attestato di partecipazione al corso prematrimoniale (we can assist with this upon request)
• Documents for the wedding prepared by the Catholic priest of your parish (based on your residence)
• Originals of all documents must be ready at least 45 days in advance

• You must be in an officially registered marriage. A certificate of civil marriage (no translation required) must be provided
• Baptismal certificates
• 3–4 days before the wedding, you must confess and receive communion
• It is advisable to observe a fast (three to ten days) before the wedding

For an Orthodox church wedding, the following are required:

• Two icons – of Christ and the Theotokos (which can be purchased on-site)
• Candles for the wedding (which can be purchased on-site)
• A rushnik (a special cloth for the feet, which can be purchased on-site)
